    Naturally Pink Cupcakes

Valentines is on its way….the more sceptical amongst you may think its just another way the card and gift manufacturers get you to part with your hard earned cash, and in many ways I agree. However, I also feel that its a way of making you stop and truly appreciate the loved ones in your lives, and I don’t just mean your significant others. For many many years, before he was sadly taken from us, I would send my Great Uncle, or as we all knew him, Unc, a Valentines card. And I would always get one back. What is THE hardest thing for you about baking sweet things? I personally think it’s actually getting the mixture to the oven……..and I mean without dipping my fingers, spoon or face in the mix and eating it all before doing anything productive with it!   Every child asks to ‘lick the bowl’, and quite frankly, I believe, every adult would if it didn’t make you sound 3 years old! I believe there are a few reasons for this…. my Nan and Grampy had a smallholding with chickens, a pig, and crops,…

  • Daisy Cake Company goings on..

Sorry, but its time I mentioned the ‘C’ word

Christmas has arrived in our house. I’m not talking festive sparkly christmas, with the christmas tree and fairy lights twinkling, but the commercial side of Christmas. This week The Daisy Cake Company baked for, and attended, its first Christmas shopping events – two in one week!!! Thursday afternoon was spent baking for the St Clement’s Primary School Shopping Evening, and Friday afternoon was spent baking for The Oaks Christmas Fair held at The Oaks Golf Club in Carshalton on Saturday. They were both great events, and over 230 cupcakes and biscuits were sold over the two fairs. Apparently it was the first time a Christmas Fair was held at The…
